FBA Board of Directors Elections

Hello Members,

2021 has been quite a year here in the BBQ world. COVID is still hanging around and keeping contests to a minimum. However, we have been fortunate to get several contests back up and running thanks to the hard work of the organizers and them making adjustments to accommodate our COVID requirements to keep our judges, teams and Reps as safe as possible. Hopefully we can get back to some semblance of normal in 2022.

None of this is possible without you, our members. It takes all of us working together to be successful. The FBA relies on the membership volunteering in one way or another.

Board of Director Elections are fast approaching. This year the positions up for election are; President, Secretary and two Director at Large Positions. If you would like to be part of the future of the FBA and help shape it over the next few years we could definitely use you!!

If you would like to be considered all you need to do to nominate yourself (or someone else can) by sending an email to The Secretary, Jim Douglas, jimdouglasllc@gmail.com, and include the position you are running for and a brief bio before October 31st. Any member can hold these positions. The one exception is to run for President you will need to have served one term on the board previously.

I have enjoyed my time on this board but will not be running so that I can pursue other opportunities.

Additionally, the board is looking for nominees for our Hall of Fame. If you know of someone who has made great contributions to the FBA and you would like to nominate them, you can also send their name and any info you have on why they should be considered to Jim Douglas before Oct. 31.

All of the winners will be announced at our annual banquet held in December. More details on when and where you can attend this event will be posted as soon as details are finalized.
